Default 73 A/C guys

Would some of you guys with 73 air cars look to see how the lines going to the condenser are routed? I looked at a friend's 73 yesterday and the steel tubing is going through a hole in the front of the fender well. On my 73 project car (that I bought in pieces) my fender well is different. It doesn't have a cut hole but it has a moulded indentation right along the rad support. I have seen this setup on 74 up cars and they used hoses to make the connection to the condenser not rigid tubing. In my piles of parts I have the rigid tubing but there is no way it will line up to the condenser. I am at a loss to understand how it could have been hooked up. Did someone change the fender well? It doesn't look like it but like I said I am puzzled. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Craig :seeya

Mine has a metal line and a hose going thru a hole in the inner fender. I am pretty sure it is original, judging by the rest of the car.

Project cars can be made up of various different cars. My 69 was two different ones put together. It had front glas from a big block car, including the electronic ignition module (not hooked up).

In talking about the A/C lines the NCRS Judging Guide states: "The hoses should have protection as they route through the inner fender and radiator support."

Joe. Thanks for the reply. So there is a third method, one metal tube and one hose. Like I said, my friends is 2 metal tubes going through a hole and I have the metal tubes but no hole. I could cut a hole but it should probably be at the edge of the opening that is there for hoses. Is there anybody else who could look at their A/C lines? Thanks, Craig :chevy
