I thought I'd ask the experts...does anyone have an idea on what the compression readings should be on a 1982 CE L83 with 100K miles? Can someone give me a range the readings need to fall within? My car numbers were all between 110 and 115 with one cylinder at 108.
Thanks for your response. I'm not having any problems at all. The car is in absolute MINT condition and mechanically it runs great. I was just wondering if i had anything to worry about as it relates to the compression. Sound like for a car this old with 100K miles we're in good shape. Let me get your advice on something...I've contemplated selling it because of college tuition that is killing me!!! but i can't get myself to do it because it truly is in remarkable shape. It's a 2 owner car that has been kept in perfect condition. I bought it for $10K and put about $5000K into at my local corvette specialist in Lousiville...on recoring radiator, new mufflers system, gear box adjustments, and a bunch of small misc...items to get the car in top shape. I heard these cars (82's CE) will be appreciating over the next few years because they're hitting that 30 year mark. any advice?
it sounds like you have a nice car .if it has been taken care of and looks good ,then the car should hold its value .but we cant see the future.the economy ,gas prices, who knows what else.the good part is you have a nice car that you have had fun with and is the last year of the c3.
Thanks for the comments. You're right...what the heck...enjoy it and we'll figure out the rest! I just can't get myself up to selling it. And what makes it even more great is that the wife loves the car too!!! Go figure that out
