Default Alternate Cooling Fan Probs

Any one know how to reolve an alternate cooling fan "on all the time" problem?...drained my battery the other day, so I unplugged the connector, passenger side, front wheel well. Dont know if its the actual sensor or a relay switch (dont know where it is). Looked all over. Any comments/advice is welcomed.

Thanks
Scott

the 81 has no relay, if the fan stopped when you unplugged the sensor in the passenger head the sensor is bad. Good oportunity for an upgrade. That aux fan comes on to late and doesn't move enough air to do you much good, it comes on at 238*.
A full on electrical fan setup isn't very expensive and will work better than the stock setup and also clean up the engine bay quite a bit.

sounds like someone has rewired it, should turn off when the key is off.
i installed a newer temp probe setup on my 79 aux fan. from summit.

Thanks to all for the tips...I'll start with purchase of a new sensor from one of the corvette parts orgs...hopefully this will do the trick and its not a wiring issue

Cheers
