Default Unknown connector under dash

I am working on/restoring my 1980 4sp manual and have come across a connector under the dash that I cannot seem to figure out what it goes to. It comes out of the main harness that runs from the fuse panel down the center console and is loose above the gas pedal. It has 4 sockets but only 3 of them are populated with Red, Orange and Brn wires. I have several repair manuals and none of them seem to show this connector, or at least I cant find it anywhere. Any ideas on how I can narrow this down would be greatly appreciated.

It still wouldn't be the ECM diagnosis terminal though. The 80 LG4 had a single (white?) wire and terminal for ECM test and it was located in the rear compartment, with the ECM. As an FYI, 81 and 82s use a multi wire terminal in the console, under the ash tray.

Does the car have the OEM radio, or has it been replaced with an aftermarket one. The factory terminal for the radio comes out of the instrument panel harness, in the general area of the accelerator pedal.

The red wire is a little confusing. Orange is very common in IP harnesses and brown shows up some too, but to my knowledge, the usage of a red wire is pretty rare in an instrument panel harness.

I don't have an 80 Assembly Manual or Shop Manual and I couldn't find any terminal using a red, orange and brown wire listed in the 81 Shop Manual, or in the 79 or 81 AIMS.

I'm sure someone on the Forum with an 80, or an 80 Shop Manual or AIM, will be able to answer this.

It is not a california car. The factory radio was not installed when I got the car and neither was an aftermarket radio. I am very confused by this connector. It definetely looks to me as it is supposed to plug into something and something (like a relay) does not plug into it if that makes sense at all. Like you guys, I am having a hard time finding this in any manuals also. Lost right now. I dont have the car in front of me, is it possible I am mistaking the "RED" for a dark "PINK" wire, does that make more or less sense? Could it be a relay socket for the power windows?

If your car had a TH400 tranny it may be the kickdown circuitry (a switch on the gas pedal that feeds a detente solonoid inside the tranny).

FYI: If you could take a picture of the socket, i am sure it would help some people identify it.
