I have an old set of solid T-Tops that came with my '81 when I purchased it. They need new weather strip and sanding and repainting, and was getting started on this job, when I came up against problem of removal of the plastic 'headliner'.
I'm not sure how this comes off, and didn't want to force anything and break it, so I would appreciate any help in telling me how to get these plastic headliners off, without damage to them or me.
Re: How to remove T-Top Headliners? (john's '81 mouse)
I believe originally they where held in place by velcro type pieces(hard plastic material). Unless someone(guilty) in the past has used an adhesive to correct for a little warpage and a worn velcro pad to keep the headliner in place.

Scott is right.
There are 4 plastic velcro like things that hold it in place as well as 2 screws(one on each side)
The velcro things are kind of like "lego" One piece pushes into the other one. They are very tight and make a big pop when you pull them apart.
Scott and Stew, thanks for the response. I really don't remember seeing any screws, guess I'll have to look more closely.
I'll try a little more pressure, once screws are removed if I can find them. Just didn't want to break these parts, but they need to be cleaned and repainted, and don't want to paint them mounted on the T-Tops.
