Where do the 2 red wires go coming out of the alternator?

Depending on the year it could be different. On mine a 72 the heavy wire goes to the horn relay which powers a lot the other goes into the car to the ignition switch.

It's on my 76'. I think that one of them has to go to the starter becuase the pos cable from the battery goes there. So that would make sense being the only line back to the battery. But where else does it make a stop before the starter?

The best thing to do is get a wiring diagram for a 76. I have a positive lead off my starter but it does not go to the alternator.It goes to the horn relay. So in a way they are connected but not directly.

This is interesting. All regular cars have the pos wire go straight back to the battery. But GM had to be creative with the vette's and wire it to hell.
