After removing the lock mechanism, cleaning and greasing everything, replacing my power door lock actuator, and reassembling, I still have a bit of trouble locking the door using the switch.
It works find with the panel off, but once the panel and arm rest has been replaced, the lock **** seems to be rubbing against the carpet with just enough pressure to prevent the lock from going in or out. I can push it in, but it seems like the **** is not free enough from the carpet of the door to move.
Did I miss an adjustment somewhere? The opposite door works fine.
Just curious . . . what side are you having problems? What you described sounds like my drivers side door lock. I was going to check the fitment of the panel again, but now I can't find the lock handle. I know it's around here somewhere . . . .
It is my driver's door as well. I was thinking of doing the same thing. It's a bit frustrating, but I have to go back into it anyway, because all the on and off stuff has lead to me stripping the screw hole for the forwardmost armrest screw. May just use one ofthe tricks I read here to fix it while I am checking the panel.
I was looking in the AIM to see if maybe I am missing a part or something that is causing the binding on this ****. The section is very hard to read and I cannot make out anything missing. I'll let you know if I discover the cause.
