Default 1971 Corvette Wiring Diagram

Hi everyone,

Can anyone spare one of the latest wiring diagrams for a 1971 Corvette? I need the latest so that I can compare it to the one listed under:

http://www.nrjvette.com/johdotukset/...tte%201971.pdf

I think the one listed above has some mistakes and I need to figure them out along with some other issues.

My problem is with the Door Ajar Switch. The Diagram show 2 wires connected to it (L. Blue & Black). On my car though, there are 3 wire connected to the switch (L. Blue, White & Black)!!

Furthermore, the L. Door Switches that connect to the Courtesy Light is shown to be connected to Orange and Black wires. My car shows it's connected to Black and White.

I'm trying to figure out things cuz I have extra white and orange wires going to the rear compartment!

P.S. Where does the Glove Box light fit exactly in the car!!!

Thank you
Fahad

door ajar switch- lt blue is for door ajar light in the dash , the black is ground for the switch, the white is for the optional alarm system UA6

front door jamb switch- white is to ground the courtesy light to turn it on , black is for the key buzzer
No orange at the jamb switches- orange is the hot lead to the courtesy light bulbs

orange and whites going to rear are for the rear courtesy light

glove box light installs in the center of the 3 doors - wire colors - red and black

EDIT-There are mistakes in most of the original wiring diagrams that you see for free and the many of the ones that you have to pay for.

Actually I have found mistakes and or confusing connections in all diagrams I have looked at.
I could offer suggestions for corrections but it might not be appreciated.

Roger,
Thanks for the illustration, I think this will help.

I would buy many of those wiring diagrams if I were in the U.S.!! But I'm in Kuwait. I'll try to call Dr. Rebuild to see if I can buy it from him and let him send it by e-mail. I have already tried to buy from Corvette America, but they won't e-mail it!

Roger,

I forgot to ask, how does the Glove Box light function. Does it operate by its own switch, or is it connected to the headlight switch?

The door pushes on a button and will operate anytime. This little light switch is a common cause of a dead battery if the door is not fully closed.
( HL switch is not connected to the glove box light )
