I was lock out of my car last night and had to crawl over from the passenger side....I'm 6'2", 220
When I pulled the door panel off after 2hrs. of coat hangers, rulers and screw drivers too get it open I found the rod was pushed through the outside door handle lever and the lever arm was bent. This jammed it in the opening position with the door locks in the lock position I couldn't even open the door with the inside handle.
My question? Does it matter if you buy the cheaper door handles or the expensive one. Is there much difference in the quality of the mechanical operations?
I'm not sure if it was the (cheap) handle lever that bent or the rod bent first the pushed through the hole???
Thanks Bill
If you buy the cheap ones you will end up hating them. I've got them on mine and they feel cheap. The GM ones weren't that much more expensive but I was buying a lot of parts at the time and trying to stretch my money.

I was in the same boat and looking at the pics of both handles, they looked identical
I took it apart and bent everything back into place. It seems to be working OK for now but the next sale I see I'll order up a pair
Thanks Guys
