70 350 4Spd Pulled motor, trans and drive shaft. Put back in ( no left over parts always a good sign ) Turn sig and dash lights did not work, Fuses OK. Found flasher on pass side replaced and sig now work but dash no. Dash fuse OK but replaced anyway and dash lights work BUT no power to fuse box! Car starts runs and lights work but fuses show no power in or out. My car does not have a circuit breaker in fuse box. All fuseable links and in line fuses OK. Is there a CB to fuse box somewhere else. I don't want to drive it as is. Thanks for your help. Rick
If you have lights that work ,like signals and dash lights then you have power to the fuse box. What are you using to test for power ?
What is not working in your car ?
Roger
Every thing seems to work. Ground to light to probe. Grounded on motor and lit when touching gen hot wire. Same ground touch both sides of ALL fuses and nothing. I am just worried I may over heat a wire if fuses are not woking. Any thing on Cir Br? Thanks.
what im saying is, there is no way ALL fuses have nothing if the vehicle is running. well, there is one way, but that would mean someone wired the car absolutely independent of the fuse block, which would be VERY labor intensive.
when you replaced the fuse for blinker and dash, and those things started to work, you confirmed that power IS going through the fuse block. otherwise, replacing these things would have done NOTHING for you. you may have the probe hooked to the same spot, but it does not mean you are grounding appropriately. ground your light close to you so you can fiddle with it as you touch the fuses.

Rick , from what you have said you have power to parts of the fuse box.
You said you connected your test light to the engine and then touched the gen hot , then touched fuses in box. If the test light remained grounded to the engine you have a very long test light lead or the fuse box your speaking of is in the engine compartment. ( not being a smart ***, just trying to understand)
On your dash lights- I can see you thinking the fuse box is dead when checking dash lights. The INST fuse or dash light fuse is fed from the headlight switch ( its the only fuse that is done this way),so if the HL switch is not on or the rheostat is burned out the INST will not be hot.
Other than dash lights what else doesn't work ? One step at a time.
