Re: To split or not to split, that is the question? (Troy Roberts)
I think the best way to take care of this is keeping this section toguether the only thing that i would suggest is that, there is a lot of good information that helps a lot of us, the only problem is it does not get put on the C3 tech tips section where it would be very help full, as an example I just asked if there was a difference in the bolt pattern between the chrome mirrors and sport mirror and how to install the sport mirrors I received a lot of good tips but this information does not get to the tech tips section. So people have to browse through all the post to find this information. it would be nice if we were able to put a lot of this good tips in the C3 Tech Tips section
Re: To split or not to split, that is the question? (Troy Roberts)
let it how it is. I read most of the topics and I am always finding things that I wasn't looking for. Spliting into to groups would mean having to check an extra forum, or missing stuff if I don't hang out in both places. C3 group is special because it is all in one group. If any thing is changed, add the C1,C2 group into our group I already see a bunch C2 people here :yesnod:
Re: To split or not to split, that is the question? (drives61)
I like Drives61's idea. It has never made a lot of sense to me to separate the C2's from the C3's. They have all the same issues. Under the fiberglass, a '67 and a '68 are damnear the same car. I always have to cruise both C1/C2 and C3 sections when I'm looking for technical discussions related to suspension, driveline, brakes, etc., because the info I need could easily be in either (or both!) places. I know it doesn't fit neatly into the "C#" organizational style, but that's life; it's kinda messy. People with questions about throttle-body injection have to cruise the C3 and C4 forums, because the Cross-Fire engine spanned '82-'84. There are other examples. But I really believe a technical section for the '63-'82 years is worthwhile. Then you could keep a C3 general section and a C1/C2 general section.
Regardless of the end result, Troy, you and your cohorts do a marvelous job! :flag Your judgment has proven good so far. Do whatever makes the most sense to you.
Re: To split or not to split, that is the question? (Troy Roberts)
I don't think it will divide us. I like the idea of splitting into two topics. The search engines will allow us to find whatever we need, whereever it may be. But personally, I use this forum almost exclusively for technical issues, and would like to see it al in one place.

I voted for leave it together.
1. If it is a common problem, people will weigh in, and the post will float to the top.
2. If it is a rare problem, and there's no reply, anyone can bump it back up with good old "ttt".
3. If you have a specific question and don't want to go through pages of topics (which doean't always identify the problem anyway), then the search function works well to find relevant topics.
4. If you want to track a specific topic, you can set up the automatic tracking feature.
Maybe what would help is to have "last time clicked" or something displayed.
That way you would know "where you left off", and how far back to go in the posts to see what's new.
I like the (new) 100 topics on the first page.
Re: To split or not to split, that is the question? (Troy Roberts)
Do not split, I wouldn't want to mix up the comptroller at work who watches the wb sites that we click on during the day. Heck I visit the forum probally 10 to 20 times a day.
Re: To split or not to split, that is the question? (Troy Roberts)
Personally speaking, I like the balance as is. No good bench racing session is all one or the other either; and, the C3 Forum is "Bench Racing" at its best!

I like the mix of tech, general, and yuck yucks. I agree with RollingThunder and SmokeHouse. It's like hanging at a garage with your buddies. Everything from cam duration to orgasm duration, and lots of laughs in between!!!
