anyone know if there is a roller that will fit under my stock valve covers on my bb.just got the elb. performer rpm heads and power package they want rollers with a lift over .500.my valve covers have the dimple in them for the power booster.don't know if i can run taller covers.any help will be appreciated thanks geno
Yes,
Harland Sharp makes them. They are a new line the diamond series. I think they call them that 'cause they cost so much. You can check them out at: Http://www.harlandsharp.com
I ran the Crower stainless steel roller rockers, and now the Harlan sharp rockers, not the expensive ones, but the cheapy kind, gold plated. You have to grind the corner of two rockers to clear the relief for the mounting bolt, also trim the dimples, grind abut half off, and double on the valve cover gaskets
I am running stock covers on mine and this is what I did to make it work.
I've got a set of the Crower roller rockers ordered. They recommended ordering the short "sure-locks" for clearance purposes. I've read here on the Forum that they will fit with a double gasket. We'll see!
Edelbrock is just telling you you need sufficient rocker to rocker stud clearance. They should NOT have told you you HAVE to use Roller Rockers. If you want you could by some long slot steel stamped rockers fom Competition Products or Jegs and the likes although if you carefully check, your stock ones are good to right at .540 lift.
This is assuming you are using a hydraulic cam of some sort.
