Low pick up after 50mph
I have good lower end pick up car goes in to passing gear so switch is ok but after 50 there doesn't seem to be the high rpm,s and pick up. Running a quardajet. When i mash the peddle after this it does pick up but no passing gear the gas peddle switch is ok.

Check to see if the secondaries are opening
With the help of a friend, remove the air cleaner and have some one press the accelerator slowly to the floor. Open the secondary air horn or upper secondary air butterfly by hand and look down to see if the secondary butterflies are open. If not adjust the linkage. If not you need to adjust the TV cable to the transmission or get a bigger engine.

No I don't feel it is carburator I think it is only going into passing gear up until 40 or so mph.For some reason it doesn.t go into passing gear after this , likeI said works fine up until this speed.
