Default Engine miss

I know I am not going to like the answers but; Just took a 500 mile trip with my 327CI 1968 and it ran fine on the way there but on the way back was running rough only during period of low RMPs on while cruising. No problem under acceleration. When I open the head lights the engine almost died so I started looking for a vacuum leak and found a hose off under the dash. No problem with the lights after I put it back on. In going through the car I found a little oil in the air cleaner around the flame arrestor. Anyone have an idea of what to look for?

Well if you are getting it in the filter it self I would think; A. if its all way through the filter might be getting sucked in from an outside source. B.. Your carb sets on inclosed intake that flows to your heads/valves. So if there oil in that area, its crack some where or you are backfiring and having some blow by it could travel back to the carb and out to filter.

Also PCV valve if running could be putting it in there. Crank pressure to high or over full on oil.

I would replace PCV valve see if that helps. I would guess that is the problem. They are pain in the *** lol. Good luck!
