Default Flat Battery- courtesy light does not go out ?

I have had a couple of flat batteries in the past 3 weeks.

While out driving today I noticed that the inside light on roof and by my feet were still on, when I got home I sat in the driveway with the ignition off and keys out but still the lights did not go out.
As I do not always get a flat battery, this is an intermitent problem.
Were should I start looking ?

Three things keep the interior lights on. A bad door switch, the HL switch turned all the way to the left, or the time delay. Sure you havent turned that HL switch on?

Check that your door switches are properly adjusted, they can come out of correct setting to turn lights off when door is closed after a timed delay with convenience group option or right away without option. I have had this problem once, adusting door switches fixed it for me.

Mine is located beside my glove box,I had to remove the glovebox to get to the timer. But I replaced my timer due to no lights working.

Went and checked the door switches, as far as I can see they look about right.

Made sure the HL switch was in the right position ( not all the way to the left )

Sat inside the vette again and waited, after 35 seconds the lights dimmed to about half the brightness but still stay on

Then the timer is likely bad. Behind the glove box. You can remove it entirely and tie the two white wires together.

Pulled out the glove box and found the timer, it was very hot and smells like like burnt wiring.

wombvette, if I join the 2 white wires together then the door switches will work again untill I get a new timer

It should be good if you put the whites together.

I did this years ago when I had the same problem. Interior lights will come on when door open and off when closed. Just no longer a delay. Works perfectly.
