how do you adjust Koni shocks?
How can I figure out which ones I have and how to adjust them?
Once I figure out how to adjust them, how should I adjust them for street driving? I switched to a glass spring in back and it is definitely more bouncy than my steel one. I have hit my head on the ceiling a couple of times (I have around 4 inches of clearance normally) and would like to cut down on the bounce over bumps.
THanks,
Mike
The front ones are pretty easy to adjust. Take them off and put a rathet w/ torx bit in the stem. Put the body in vise (some protection for scuffing is adviseable, also don't overtighten the vise!) then press in the stem all the way and start turning. There are arrows w + & - stamped in the body to indicate + = stiffer, - is softer. Turn that way, when it's all the way to + or - you feel a restriction. You have to count the amount of turns from the - side to set them to the proper setting (the one you choose)
The rears are more work, you'll have to remove the white teflon clip around the stem (if i't's still there) and in the top half there are 2 little holes next to the mounting ear. Pry through the holes w/ a small punch or something else and push out the bottom out rubber. Remove rubber and adjust as above (now you have to push in the upper half by hand) and put the rubber & teflon ring back in after you're done.
