Where? If you're talking about 100LL Avgas, yeah - you can get it - but be careful as a) you're not paying road tax, b) you're technically trespassing if you go to an airport pump and are not a pilot/mechanic/etc. and c) the additive formulation is different.

Better off to just buy some racing fuel and mix at home. I kept my old '69 350/350 L-46 pretty happy with a splash of Rockett mixed in

cam.... I am running the Edelbrock rolling thunder signature series... it is a little hotter than the rolling thunder cams and the RPM cam. I have been very happy with the cam...(436tq at he rear wheels) currently fighting other valve train issues..... but that brings up another issue... valve train, there is a LOT more to it than just the heads.... SPRINGS LIFTERS, RR'S all play a major part in the RPM and thus HP of the car.... if your valve train is not good, you can have $6000 heads and it will not do what you want.
I would never ever never ever go again with a flat tappet cam with todays oils, and the roller will never go flat an you...
if you are going to spin this motor up to 6+K that 600cfm is not going to be adequate.

gasket thickness can not be noted unless you have all the other specs... which you dont have..but with cast heads dont go above 10.5:1, and aluminum not above 11:1... or you will ping on 92.... I know:-)...... and worrying about finding higher octane gas when out on a run is a pita...

Default Update

All,

Winter project COMPLETE

Everyone was right…Naturally!

I installed shorty ceramic headers ($65 at Carlisle, and I sent them out for ceramic treatment) (couldn’t properly fit an x-pipe), an Edelbrock RPM Performer Intake Manifold, Edelbrock 600 CFM Carb (both for $200 used) and 1.6:1 Roller Tip Rockers ($90 at an auto swap in CT)

It’s improved in the 3-5K RPM range and a bit snappier on the low end (probably because the Q-Jet needed a rebuild) but not significantly different.

It's all about the heads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It certainly looks decent though after all the cleaning, painting and detailing
