I am in the process of cleaning up my floor area with the intention of replacing it. The existing sealant along the seams of the floor was deteriorating and coming up in places so I removed it.
There is some rust on the floor, mostly just in one area...I am busy wirebrushing it out. The entire interior is gutted.
For the seams I am thinking 3m seam seal.
For the floorpans..either por-15 down first with maybe something over it or an epoxy.
My question is:
In what order should the seal/paint be applied? It is my understanding that things dont adhere well to por-15 especially once it has fully cured.
Also. What kinds of coatings were originally on the floor. Mine has white, with some really tough black substance under it. Does that sound original? and what is it?
