? about eckler
first i had to wait 3 week for the cover to come so i call eckler i send back the cover and it looks like i'll be waiting about another 3 weeks, has anybody has had problem with ecklers about returns would like to know
thanks zekie
I boxed it up several months after I bought it and sent it back with a letter of explanation. I wasn't even seeking a refund just told them it doesn't do what they say it will and explained the calibration. They refunded my money less a restocking fee since it was returned more than 30 days from the date of purchase.
Sounds like your cover is made per order and that is why it took 3 weeks for the first one and sounds like they took it back and ordered another one for you that has to be made, just a guess but you may want to ask them if they haven't already stated this to be the case or not.
Hope it works out for you
Being in the car parts and accessories business, it sounds like the manufacturer has put the wrong part in the box. Now it would be nice if you had received an explination but it does happen (about ten times a week here but we sell about $700,000.00 a day in parts).
If your cover isn't one of the more common ones, it might be a special order part from the vendor and take a couple of weeks to get the correct one. This could be made more difficult for the distributor if there is what we call mixed stock in the inventory.
I have been dealing with Ecklers since 1973 when I got my first Vette and have seen some ups and downs in their level of service and knowledge. After they moved to the new building to the south, I noticed the people I talked with knew more about Vettes. Perhaps I just got lucky and didn't get the young guy who really knew Mustangs that I talked with six years ago.
Give them a call, be nice and ask. They might know more now after talking with the vendor than they knew when you first told them your cover did not fit.
I really do hope they get it right and you both end up happy. That company name has been one of the stalwarts in the Corvette industry for decades but I must remind myself it has been through several ownership changes and our old NCCC friend, Ralph, is long gone.
