1979 Car Craft
My Dad just sent me a 1979 Car Craft with an article about the L82 vs the L82S.
I had never heard of the L82s. Apparently a co. in AZ. fixed them up a bit.
They put dual cats and a Hurst shifter and a few extra mods but all in all they said it wasnt all that much better than the stock L82 at the strip.
Its pretty cool checking out the old ads and stuff. You dont see all the well endowed women in all the parts ads today that they had back then.
Summit charged 2.00 for there catalog back then too. Now its free.
One of the articles said something like even though they arent the cars they used to be they couldnt get the looks from people and the thumbs up and all the smiles. "whens the last time you saw anyone pick up a hot babe in a 65 Rambler American?"
That article just reminded me how much fun it is to drive. The best part is, I was going to sell her but the wife told me to keep it the other day! She used to hate it but since I let her buy what she wanted "02 grand Am" she has no reason to be jelous of my blue beauty anymore :p:
