I am going through the selection process for heads, intake, and cam, and have spoken with some very knowledgeable members for their recomendations. I will keep my current L-48 bottom end as-is, along with my 3:08 rear and stock converter. (Possable rear and converter change in distant future.) I plan a Q-jet rebuild, with Dynomax /Flowmaster exhaust. I want low end torque, HP, dependability and drivability. This car will never see the track, and an occasional rice race will be about the only time I "get on it". Budget is also an issue. So far, I've narrowed my head chioces to either the Edlbrk. Performer 64cc (to increase compression a bit) or maybe AFR's. I want to keep the cam duration between 210-220 for drivability, so I like the 260H (212degree/440") 268H (218-454") or the XE256 (212-218/.447"-454") or maybe the XE262? I Also picked out the Perfromer intake to clear the hood and accept my Q-Jet for now. What do you "go fast" guru's think about my heads and cam selection? Any recomendations for an Aluminum head ($500. ea max) other than what I've picked? Dont know much about AFR so info will be appreciated.
Thanks for your time and effort... Ed
Sounds Great Ed......I would also go with a converter and/or a gear change.....It mad a huge difference in my car...........2400 stall........But I do have a bigger Cam :reddevil
