my '78 (owned for over 25 years), has never had the under hood light. While doing some engine cleaning, I discovered a wire that is hot all of the time. I am assuming that do to the length of the wire, it is the hot lead for the light. Where would the ground come from and how does light go off, if the wire is always hot? Also, any idea of a kit or a "better" light?
thanks in advance for the help,
Wire is always hot. Ground wire is attached to light socket and grounds to hood support bolt. Inside light there is a mercury switch that turns on/off. mike...
