Default Dead BATTERIES

Problem: I have a 1980 that keeps running down batteries. I drive it about 5 times/week, probably about 25 miles/week. About every month or so, the battery dies. I replaced the alternator last month (tested the one I took off the car and it was fine too) but that didn't work because it has died since. I was told possibly the courtesy light timer could be causing this or even the headlight switch. There are no unusual noises/lights that stay on longer than they should. Anyone experience this??
(the same car also has this problem... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...ring-jerk.html)

Get a battery disconnect switch until you find the problem. They also make it easier when you need to work on the car.

You need to connect an amp meter between one of the battery terminals and the cable. You will most likely see a current draw. Then remove one fuse at a time until you see the draw stop. You can then remove one component at a time from the offending circuit to find out which component is causing the problem.
