I was looking to replace my 77 L-82's HEI distributor.
But with so many brands and price differences it quickly became daunting. I was wondering if any of the masterminds on this forum had any suggestion as to perhaps a specific brand, or, what separates the varying price levels of dizzy's. What makes any one distributor better than another?
Well in response to your question 69 427, after reinstalling my intake manifold and getting my carb back on it came time to do ignition and set my timing.
I quickly found that my centrifugal advance was not coming in at all. This could perhaps explain some of the performance issues I was having. After inspecting the dizzy it is crudded up and old. From what i've heard about rebuild kits it seems that I could just save the piece of mind and just pay 50 more dollars and have a brand new one.
Do you have any advice for me as to why I should stick with what i've got.
