1970 Hood Clearance

I’d like to install a new hood that will give me a bit more clearance.

I currently have a 1973-75 style hood and what I think is a 1970 front end. Although the car is a 1970, the guy who built it grafted on a 1974 nose and rear to make it look like a 1974. I have no idea why. It’s got a big block with an edlebrock 1904 carb. With the 2” air filter it presses right up against the underside of the hood.

I might like to go with a 1970 style big block hood to give me the extra clearance but do not know if it will fit. Ecklers has hoods for 68-72 and 73-76 but I am not sure if they are interchangeable

Any advice would be appreciated

Do you have a wiper door?

I don't think so. The hood ends and the wipers are partially recessed under the hood. There is nothing that looks like a door.

Then you need to use the 73 & up hood.
