First of all can the fuel filter blow oil all over the place? Next, if it can then how much with labor do you think it will cost to fix it? Im losing about 1 quart of oil every 5 days of everyday drinving. I can handle a few drops after shutting down but this is slopping every where. :cry
Where are you seeing the oil at? There are plenty of places on a small block (?) that can and do leak regularly. usually it's just the engine letting you know that it still has oil. No leak = cause fo alarm because the pan is empty:D
In your case it sounds excessive. Let us know where the oil splatter is and we can help narrow it down.
im really sorry i meant oil pump. It is splattered all over the pump block and pan a local mechanic told me the diaphram in the pump might be going bad and sucking in oil and blowing it out it also is on the llower radiator hoses. and starter.
It's not really pressurized with oil at all. But I could see how a bad gasket in it could allow oil to get out. There really isn't much else down in that area.
Fuel pumps are pretty cheap and easy to change. Use a dab of grease on the shaft/pin to hold it up in the block while you put the pump on. You'll see what I mean when you get in there.
