Default Any Help with This Block Number

Looks like I'm going through the same thing as 73-454, only he has a wickedly fast big block.

I pulled the intake on my car tonight, in anticipation of putting my new stuff on tomorrow. Anyhow, the only readable code I saw was righ under the Dist, on the Passenger side that reads "J235". There appears to be another code next to the bell housing on the Drivers side, but I can't make it out....I'll try again in the AM in the light.

The motor is obviously a crate motor of some sort (new style SB - one piece rear main)....just curious if that number above represents anything to anyone?

thanks for any help.

J235 is the casting date. They usually didn't use the letter "I" in cast dates so J = September. J235 = September 23 of the year "5"....1975? I would guess. Hope this helps. Chuck
