Direction? I'd say go straight to eliminate the problem. If that doesn't work, try bouncing the car and check shocks, springs, bushings.

When was the last time you had a front end lube?

Suspect ball joints.

OK. It's coming from the passenger side, so i would check the wheel bearings on that side.

If that isn't it, then my questions would be:

Is it a continuous pop pop pop or a single pop?

Does brake on/off make a difference?

If you continue to drive in a circle does the noise stop or does it stop when you start to return the wheel to straight?

Creaking noises almost always indicate worn control arm bushings or dry ball joints or dry tierod ends.

Grease your ball joints and tierod ends.

If not then spray some silicone oil on the front sway bar bushings where they mount it to the frame. Seen them moan when get dry and worn out.

I have had isues with "creaking" noises when turning after spirited runs....
in my case, it was due to diff chatter. The friction plates in the diff got warm, and the diff oil gets less slippery as it becomes hotter, and at slow speed turning the plates lock momentarily and release suddenly as left and right wheel speeds differ on turning. This was after a diff rebuild.
Changed the diff oil, added LSD additive and problem solved.

Now in your case, it may be totally unrelated to the diff.
Just giving you a heads up on another possible cause if you don't locate the problem in the suspension.

cheers
tom

Maybe a Steering box? Do you feel anything the steering wheel? Car have P/S?

Jack the side up and pull on the tire top to bottom and then left to right... does it move in anyway? Could be what others mentioned... Really need to start ruling items out to find the culprit.
