Default green wire

I found a green wire (of course disconnected) originating from a conection below the sight glass on the low pressure side of the a/c. There is also a blue wire in the same connection running to the a/c compressor. Any idea what and where the green wire goes to? It is a long wire that was all curled up behind the coolant bottle.

Default green wire,?

Need some pics, Normally you need to wires to run the a/c compressor. green, black are possible grounds, Check the wire in question to see if its hot and or where its coming from. Some a/c units that leek down after a period of time, require a hot jumper wire to activate the a/c unit so it can be charged. does the a/c unit work ?, IS there two wires in a connector hooked up to the compressor ? pics would be helpful. The wire in question could also go to a temp switch witch cycles the a/c compressor witch would be in line somewhere around the sight glass, did a/c years ago, gees I'm not liking how many years ago that was, I'm sure others will jump in with better answers, but check the wire and see if its hot make sure if it is hot, protect it so it does not go to ground and short something out.
