Well it's been months now since I put my car up onto the jacks and tore everything off/ out. This all started when I snapped the side yoke axle last year  .
Well the rearend is back together & in the car. Finally it's warm enough (50`) for me to work in the garage again. Today I removed the rear rotors & painted the center section. I also sanded the e-brake shoes and adjusted them when I reinstalled the rotors. I now have the side driveshafts reinstalled. I was worried how that would go because the "Tom's" 30 spline side yokes have a flange that bolts to them just like the outside flange that bolts to the bearing assembly. It went together great :) . I still have the rear swaybar to connect & the fiberglass leafspring to install.
While trying to change the front brake hoses to the SS braided ones I've had laying around for the last 2 years, I had to replace both front brake lines too because I couldn't break the old hose & brakeline fitting loose. :( . Well at least that's done & only needs to be bled now.
I've had the 4spd out of the car for awhile now & cut the trans crossmember out. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a chance to pull the bellhousing, pressure plate, & clutch. I'll then check the bellhousing alignment and hopefully get all that back in. then I'll be closer to installing the TKO transmission. I have a Bowtie O/D tranny crossmember that I'm going to try make work with the TKO. I've had to modify the transmission somewhat so far to get the bar to mount to it outside the car. I'll know better once the transmission is bolted in.
I'll be taking pics and will post them as I get alittle further along with this install.
I can't wait to get the drivetrain reconnected so I can start the car and install the JCL sidepipes so I can hear them. I have 5 weeks left to get the car done to make it to the Corvette Mall show, then I'm off to Bowling Green in my car :) . Thanks for listening  .
Yeah it's moving finally, just slowly. Between working, going to school, playing with the kids(priority #1), and winter, I just don't get a chance to work on it very often. Hopefully come summer I have more of a chance to drive it ;) .
ZD75Blue, it always seems like things happen "just in time for spring" , but I guess it motivates me even more to get off my butt  .
I'm where I wanted to be April 1st. I had Neil 78 e'mail me some large versions of his signature pictures and used that as a motivater. In fact I was able to work on my karmann Ghia project while waiting for vette parts I was so far along:). I installed the steeroids system, installed motor and trans, modified the hooker side pipes headers so they cleared nicely. Now just the little things on the frame then the body will be ready to drop on (not literly I hope) The problem I for see is I liked the side pipe instalation and the look so much is that I will want to do it to the one I will be driving this summer. :)
Paso it always nice to be on track :yesnod: . Looks like you've been pretty busy too :D . From the pics I saw earlier, keep up the excellent work ;) .
Sounds like it's coming along real good Mike. I wish I could say the same about mine. Oh well, still have the 95 to fall back on. See you in May!
Dave
Dave I'm counting on it ! If your not up to driving, I'll swing by & pick you up! You know, maybe while your recoupping, you can make a list of the things left to be done mechanically and a few of us heading your way in May can stop by & turn some wrenches on RollingThunder for ya :) .
That would be really cool Mike, but Cruise-In is a time for fun and fellowship. It'll be great just to see all the folks from the forum and finally meet and old friend. :) The Rolling Thunder project will get done when it's supposed to and will be good therapy for me in the months ahead. I'm just anxious to get well enough to get started on it again.

Sounds like you have been busy! The old thing I have done lately, is work on re-modeling the downstairs bath room, and put together a new spreader for the lawn! :chevy

Re: Progress update...(long) (SmokedTires)
Sounds like you've been busy. Wish I could say the same. I know what you mean about the garage temps being tolerable now. I've got so much I want to do, I don't know where to start.
Thanks for reminding me about the SS braided brake lines. I still have the front crossover section and both braided pieces to replace----they've been sitting in a box about a year now. :(
John I know what you mean about remodeling, I've been gutting my house and rewiring, insulating, etc... for the last 8 years. I just have the kitchen left for the interior then I have to side the house. We must keep our better halfs happy if we want to play with our toys ;) .

Yep, I'm getting ready to start sanding spackle today (then paint next weekend, then trim the week after that...) I guess you know the feeling, a big pile of parts in the garage and no time to work on them! Can't pay someone else to do the house work because that would cut into the Vette funds
Sounds like you're building quite a monster. Keep it up!

My little monster is nothing compared to what you building   . Someday I hope to be able to have something that awesom, but for now I can live with my 355 :) .
Now on the days it's raining, work in the house, the nice days go outside ;) .
