Oil Pressure Sender
Just wanted to find out what Elctric Oiler pressure sender people are using.
I ordered one from Summit and it went faulty after perhaps 2 months.
I ordered one locally which was made by 'Standard' (made in mexico) and that one had lasted probably 500 miles and cost about $90.
I have two others on the shelf which are faulty.
It seems to be a common problem that the modern reproduction senders after a while go faulty. The fault I am seeing is that the oil pressure reads between 5 and 15psi higher than it should do and fluctates all over the place, this can also be seen by switching the ignition on without the engine running. This seems to get progressively worse with time and use. I have swapped the senders onto other vehicles and the fault always moves with the sender.
Any idea on who makes a good sender?
Cheers All,
Lester
P.S. I know a capillary guage is the only way to go for accuracy, I am currently sourcing the parts to fit a capillary gauge in the wiper well but I also want the original electric gauge in the car to operate.
