Default Need Help With My Quadrajet

I am at wits end trying to figure out my quadrajet. The linkages have me all confused. Here is a picture

What isn't shown in the picture is that the carb also has a choke pull off in the front. Here is where my confusion comes in. Here you can see the linkage goes to the air valve to the secondary and to the choke. There is no linkage going to the choke pull off on the front. So why is it there? Further, I bought a new secondary pull off because the current one does not work. The one the give me only has one linkage slot. The current one has two. Did they give me the wrong part?

I think I understand how the secondary air valves work. The vacuum holds the linkage tight and closed. Once you lose the vacuum, the secondaries open from the pull of the engine. Is this correct? Having this figured out may help me get the linkage right.

Any help offered is appreciated, thanks.
