Some timing questions
1) Does being more advanced or more retarded tend to make the car overheat? I know one of them does, can't recall which
2) No-one laugh at this one... Is BTDC above the zero on the tab or below? mine is so dirty / nasty I managed to mark the zero line, but thats it
3) Should the carburator end up richer with more advance and leaner with less?
4) Ooooh this may be a problem too, where should the vacuum advance line go to? Right now it goes directly to the carb to a fitting next to one of the fuel bowls.... The carb was installed by bubba (the prior owner) so this may not be helping...
Thanks!!

BTDC is above(counterclockwise)to the "zero" mark.
Running richer will help cooling, at the expense of using fuel as a cooling medium.
Hope that helps

#3: air/fuel mixture is independent of ignition timing...in other words it doesn't change when you change your timing.
For #4 see my carb connection image: https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=86&TopicID=3
