My brother has a 69 small block, that he intends to convert to BB at some point. His car is in the shop having a lot of suspension work done right now. The mechanic asked him if he wanted to install 'big block yokes' now since he plans to put a big block in later. I have no idea what a 'big block yoke' is, I would have guessed the rear end of a sb and bb would be nearly identical, I know they used different spring rates for the bb. Anyone know what this is, or what differences exist between a C3 bb and sb rear end?

Big block yokes have caps holding the U-Joints rather than U bolts.
If he's doing this as a clone, he'll need the rear sway bar as well.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Monty is a 10 year member here who shows up from time to time, in a stock appearing C3 he put a 427ci small block twin turbo that put out 1200HP and 1000ft/lbs. He was into demolishing anything he met that thought they were up against a stock C3 and met his goals I believe he only raced it once to 9.xx @ 160+ mph if I remember correctly and that was 7 or 8 years ago
There is also a link to his website where you can see his latest project
Not sure, stub axle may refer to the other end? The axle mounted to the trailing arm?
BTW: Regarding yokes. I've heard of some offered which are a bit overlength, allows for trimming to get the end play down. I don't recall the details. I had a shop replace mine. End play is very small now.
LOL I'd put my 496 n/a bbc against a whipple smallblock any day.
yes your drag racing wheely is impressive, But my friends 408 ci with 14 psi is a very mellow driver that runs around town under vacuum condition. Then you hit the go pedal on the 2000 CFM injection butterflies and it unleashes just over 700 RWHP. He has plans of back halfing the Vette. L480E tranny

Stub axles and yokes are the same. On the other end is the spindles.
