I was thinking about fitting a higher rated TC, prob around 2400 so i could launch a bit harder when i eventually go to the strip, being able to hold the car on the brakes untill the TC gets close to the magic 2400rpm, i also know there are Trans Brakes that basically hold the forward and reverse fluid together equilising the pressure so the car goes knowhere, and releases on the push of a button.
The question is (if i have the above right) why go to a higher converter? if i have trans brake i can hold the car on teh brake and launch from what ever rpm i like (as long as its on or above the rating of the TC).

even on the trans brake, your T/C is only going to flash close to its stall speed. so if you have stock t/c and you leave off the brake, it will leave off the line like a pooch. Transbrakes are used mainly for better reaction times.
Unless this is a race car dont bother with a trans brake. 2400 stall isnt much of a converter either. What is the engine combo? call a converter company like Coan and explain to them what you want to achieve they will give you the correct answers.
its a 383 build, it will be used as a street car 90-95% of the time, i was just trying to get an idea of how the TC and TB worked and why launching a, say 1500 TC from 2000rpm on a TB wouldnt launch at 2000rpm as the TC is already at 100%
