Is there a difference between the 68-69 and the 70-72 front bumper outer extensions. I seem to be an inch short (no slams please) from the distance between the outer extension and the bumber bracket and I know it would take over an inch and a half of shims for this to work. somethings very wrong
Re: Help! Front bumper outer extensions (71DropTop)
The assembly manual shows shims as required. They look like front end shims. My 69 has a few on the right side... OOPS !! That is for the bumper mounting itself. I will look again.
Re: Help! Front bumper outer extensions (71DropTop)
Hey Don!
I think we are talking about the part that fills the gap between the frame horn and the end bumper hole at the corner.
I don't have any pics of it but mine doesn't have any shims.
The parts suppliers do have it broken down into 68-69 and 70-72. The older ones are 3x more expensive.
I don't see why there would be a difference though!
