Default Fellow members BEWARE!!!!

There is a post in the c3's for sale area for a 1970 corvette project in Rochester, Mi. I just returned from looking at it. This guy is advertising it as a nice project with a solid frame. :U I looked long and hard for even 1 piece on this car that was even salvagable. There wasn't one. This car was the most rotted c3 i have ever seen. Not just the frame, the birdcage as well.
My biggest concern here is that he told me over and over that he was well versed in corvette's. And that this car had a perfectly straight rust free frame over the phone. Even when i got there he continued to tell me the same thing. He then told me that there was a small square cut out from the bottom of the frame. I then proceeded to examine the the underside of this car. I poopie you not when i say the frame had no bottom. It was completly gone. When i confronted him about this he said, "well i never looked underneath". Well, then how did he know there was a small square cut out of the bottom, if he had never looked down their? He was well aware of the deterioration.
This guy bought this car of ebay for 500.00. When hegot it home and realized that the car was a worthless pile of poopie. He decided to try to recoop his losses by offing it on someone who is not educated enough to inspect the underside of the car before buying it.
Futher more, he told me that if i didn't buy it. There was a guy from upper michigan that was going to drive down to buy it. Randy, that hopefully isn't you?
Stay away guy's! This is a crook trying to pull a scam. :nono: :bs

I questioned him about every aspect of the frame and he said it was " rust free and totally solid- never been hit- bal bal bal" I asked what he did for a living , he told me he was a cop ! Thank you for posting this you saved me a trip and alot of trouble - your not suppost to hit cops :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing :boxing If I ever meet up with you I'll buy   Rick

first this guy told me he was a cop too. it turns out he was a security guard for a large credit union. this car did not have a serial number or a trim tag. :U

Sorry, i am going to have to argue that point. This guy lied right out his butt about the car. He advertised this car to me, and others on this forum as a solid rust free frame!
I got into this guy pretty hard about trying to sell this as a rust free car. I would not be surprised if he is no longer telling his old story. I made him well aware that i was going to make sure that the corvette community was aware of his cars condition.

Are you sure he didnt describe it as a "squalid, rusty frame" ? Maybe you just didnt hear him correctly.... :) MJ

What he said: I'm selling a mostly rusty Corvette...
What you heard: I'm selling a solid rust free Corvette...
Maybe you were on your "cellular" phone and not a Sprint PCS phone...hehehehe
