what a rush..FIRST TIME DRAG RACING......
went to the drag strip tonight and raced my vette for the first time..WHAT A RUSH..some other forum members were out there also and needless to say i will be going there again :)my first run i raced an iroc..we both screwed up the light so the time didnt count..but he left the line first and i still killed him..my second run was against a ricer with the wail tail and farter..i ran a 15.037 to his 16.581..too easy..just kidding i was sweating and all nervuos..but i still killed a ricer :D ..i raced against this really nice guy that bought norris's vette on my third run..wow that must have been cool to watch,too vettes side by side and i mean side by side ,he won by .376..my time was 14.975..i need to get better traction cause my rears were spinning way too much ..i also need to fix my tach so i can use my shifter instead of racing in drive..all in all i had an unreal night and now i know what my vette can do and how to do better next time..im predicting solid 14's next time i go out...well hoping anyway.. :jester

the first time is always the best..your leg starts twitching your hands get sweaty your thinking to your self ok do i leave on the green or the yellow....next time start out in first youll get a better time too...great first time out.

Pat I still do that every first run I make. It does get a little easier after the first couple of times doing it. It is very addictive.

Hey, hey, Razz!! Good fun last night, huh? You and your Vette made a good first showing. There's some more in your Vette to tap into. Now the challenge is finding where it is and turning that into quicker ETs.
I bet you had a good nights sleep after the adrenalin rush subsided. You were sweating adrenalin, LOL. You got my adrenalin flowing by just being around you while you were AMPed.

I am glad you had a good time! Let me know when you are planning to go again and I can usually meet you out there. The best part about last night was that everybody got to drive their cars home undamaged and for me and you a slight bit better tuned. Sorry I took all of Norris' time working on my carb!

damn....i must be opposite of you guys.....im usually very calm in my first 2 runs or so and get great 60 foots....like this sat..a .523 and .532. For the rest of the nights i was slightly nervous and got .600-.650 60 foots

I've only drag raced once & my 1st run was the best. I think it was becasue I was soooo nervous and I was concentrating the most I the 1st run. My second & third run were pretty close to the firts one, but I was on the brakes before the end of the 1/4 because I wasn't sure where it was & didn't want to stay on the gas to far :bb . :D
