Default Intake Manifold Recommendation 74

I was wondering if anyone have a recommendation for a intake manifold for a 74.

1974' Corvette
Original base 350 engine (195hp?)
Rochester Quadra-Jet
4-Speed Manual
Factory Small Block Hood/Air Cleaner

I was was looking for a aluminum/polished aluminum intake manifold that would work well on the stock engine (only performance upgrade so far is a set of Doug's exhaust headers) as well perform well once I get around to rebuilding the internals (Would be using new Heads/Cams/ect). I would be willing to replace both the air cleaner as well as the carb to accommodate a larger intake manifold if that's happens to be the best solution.

I was recommended Weiand intake by a local shop, was wondering if anyone could suggest a particular model or a different intake all together?

Since you're pretty much stock, and won't see RPMs higher then 5500, I'd go with a performer intake. Once you upgrade the cam and heads you can go with a performer rpm, or whatever will work with your top end set up. Rebuild, tune, and keep the quadrajet. You won't need anything bigger then that.

If you're looking for more power, I think you may be disappointed. My recommendation would be to save your money until you can do something more serious, like better heads and a decent cam. Good heads like Vortecs or Edelbrock and a decent cam will wake up that sleeping 350.

I wasn't expecting much additional power out of just a intake and headers. The Headers were only upgraded because the existing manifolds were cracked and I figured it was better to spend the extra money on headers now then to replace the manifolds, then replace them with headers later.

The intake manifold is more of a aesthetic upgrade until I have the time to do a proper rebuild. Everything in the engine bay is basically rotted out, so iv been replacing broken items and refinishing others that are functional but a PIA to remove (Brake booster for example.). I'm repainting the engine block back to the original red/orange, and thought that a polished intake would really help finish the "clean" look. I'm actually shorter on time than I am on money, so it may be some time before I actually am able to do a entire internal build out (2+ years). I still have a factory AC system to pull, Vintage Air to install, an entire interior to gut and replace and considerable trim/exterior work. At this point, I'm just trying to clean up the look of the engine and scrape out a few extra ponies of possible with the intent of returning later to properly build out the engine.
