A few weeks ago my wife and I took a trip from Alpharetta GA. to Port Saint Joe FL. and back which is about a 7 hour drive each way. We had the back of the Vette packed full up to the rear bubble back. Got to love this ZZ4 engine I recently had installed in my 82. No problems what so ever with the engine (minor issue with the A/C cycling but it kept the car cool), passing anything else we saw on the road at any speed was a breeze and it just sounded and felt good! Driving the speed limit plus 5 or 10 mph it averaged 19.8 mpg. We had people stopping to check out the Vette when it was parked and a lot of looks and smiles driving around town.
Not sure which I enjoyed more, the time at the beach in FL. or the 14 hours driving the Vette. This kind of enjoyment makes all the time and money spent on my car worthwhile.
Hope to make the trip again the first of next month. Long live my C3!
