A small vendor/shop was selling them at Corvette's at Carlisle last year (2009) but don't remember who.
Neat idea however it was still a two person job to get the hood off so i didn't see much of a benefit, just something to break/slip and cause damage.

Advantages
a) hood come off fast and easy
b) dont have to mark then re-align hinges
c) they're just cool ! LOL...ok, but the other 2 are valid !

a) easy...yes. Fast...well you still need a helper to pull it off.
b) true but how often do you need to pull the hood off unless you're pulling the engine or radiator?
c) Ok, i'll agree with that one.

There's a previous thread (below) on these in C1/C2 that might mention the same company, but don't have time to research just now. If someone else knows or finds out, I'm interested in them also.
it was either corvette central or corvette america,i was looking through one of them last night; and ran across them, ill look again tonite, post tommorrow, hopefully,,ill be busy tommorrow. but if i remember corectly, they cost around 285.00 dollars,,ill try and get back soon.
in the master catalog of corvette america the 1968-82 quick release hood hinges go for 190.00 in black,325.00 in chrome, per pair. model no. in black is 48465,chrome 48466
I tried to find a set last year. I had also seen them at Carlisle & in Corvette Centrals catalog. They were expensive & passed them up the first time for the same reasons quoted above. Then as I was finishing up body work I contemplated fitting & painting two hoods - a standard big block hood and an L88 hood.
Found out during that search they are no longer made & the small company gone or has since changed names. I did find them advertised on several websites at prices much lower than CC - not that it mattered
I bought a set at Carsile in 2008, the designer had a booth. I had a chance to talk with him for a while, pricing was an issue and I stated they were to much money, he asked what I would pay and I said no more then $100.00, he thanked me for feedback and sold me a set!
They do work great, yes it takes two to pull the hood, but its a job done in 5 minutes both ways.

OK, so they're not for everyone, but as I R/R my hood(s) often enough that I've grown tired of re-aligning ever time, I'm one who would consider the quick release hinges a real plus.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
That what I meant about the chalk outline or you can use white paint to outline the hinge on the hood so you can put the hood back on the hinges in the same place and drop it down and your done. You can then spray the under-hood paint of your choice over the white or just leave it there.
I leave it there it is hardly noticeable. I also take the hood off and put it on myself with a small pulley attached to my engine hoist I beam across the top of my garage, lift the hood up with the pulley, move the Vette out of the way and take the hood of the pulley, it probably only weighs 40-50 lbs
I myself do not see any need for a quick disconnect/release hood support...the 4 bolts are dead on and have no adjustments room on them (it is a fit, or no fit set-up).
And the weight and size of the hood make for a 1 person show...Heckfire...it lifts right off and goes back on quick and easy...1 or 2 "pilot studs" are all that is needed...if any.
However, if you have a ongoing need to be removing your hood assembly often...then why could you not put 4 studs in the hood, and use hex nuts to secure it ...or maybe even machine in 4 holes in the studs, for 2 cross pins, 1 on each side... ("kindalike" the hood pin kits).
