DESTINY vs Chevy 1500...Damage Pics..... :(

Hey everyone, I'm soooo bummed and pissed right now and have been since this happened. I'm more messed up mentally than anything else. I'm fine, really. :) Yesterday morning I was driving down Ventura Ave. at about 20-25 mph. It was overcast, so I had my lights on. I was in no hurry either. Then, I remember seeing this big Chevy bowtie and grille of the truck. I tried to get out of the way, but he was already in his kinda wide sweep into the lane. (Why he didn't go into the center turn lane is beyond me) He hit Destiny apx. 6-10 inches below the door handle/lock area, hit her in the dog leg and tire. Tweeked the rear wheel bad, but didn't damage the rim itself thank god. He spun me so that I was facing the parking lot he just came out of. She's now at Paradise Chevrolet. I won't know anything till tomorrow, and I'll try to get pics as soon as possible so that you all can see the damage and make any suggestions on fixing her. Most likely that will be tomorrow night if I can get my hands on a digital camera.

Ouch...
Was the guy in the 1500 paying attention? Did the insurance company cover everything? Frame bent? Doors still line up?

Thanks you guys, I knew you'd understand how I feel right now. I'll post pics tomorrow if possible. Gawd I hope the frames not bent...

Here are pics of the damage on the outside. They haven't gotten her up in the air yet to check her frame, or a detailed estimate, so a few more days on those.

Glad you're ok, looks like Destiny needs a bandaid...
And she's so pretty!
I would make sure they replace the entire panel, not just a surface patch, of course it may be a battle :rolleyes:

I need to find out how much they will paint. The stripes are my main concern right now because she WAS and original ride. Any suggestions on how to get them to fix her stripes properly would be greatly appreciated! :)

That really looks bad!
Take care and let check the following:
Differential, half shafts, rear bearings, Differential carrier, spring, strut rods, frame dimensions.
Take your time and get an experienced shop to examine your car!
There can be more damage underneath than visible at first sight!
To my mind they MUST open the Diff, caus a hit like this will have an effect through the half shafts to the Diff - possibly to the other side as well!!!

79makoL82, those are decals....20 year old decals so there's no way in heck that the new once will match. I'm going to talk to the body shop tomorrow about the stripe situation, so we'll see what they say. I'm sure I'd have to really fight for them to paint the whole car, but I do show her, so I'll fight for it if I have a shot.

i was stopping at a red light once and a guy barely bumped my rear bumper. didnt leave a mark and my buddy in the car didnt even feel it. i was ready to drag the guy out of his neon or what ever POS he was in and beat a warning into him :mad(luckly i am able to control myself :blueangel:). but im very proctective of my baby. i dont know what i would do if some arsehole clipped me like you got it. Especially with how nice yours looks.
