power steering control valve has no leaks .has alot of steering play.is there a repair kit available to take out the play.all other suspenion compontents are tight.major play in steering control valve at pitman arm with engine running or not.
My 74 had worn that pivot joint out on the valve. It can be repaired , but all the trouble to take the valve out , might as well just replace it as it was original to the car. I had no other suspension issues either. I have new frt springs ( best money I every spent) and new GM shocks. It handles probally 95% now good as new . No slop or play.
I did for good measure for my car , oh maybe 8 years ago sent my steering box off to BAIRS COrvettes in PA , wasn't very expensive and was pretty easy to take in and out myself. and they rebuilt it and I replaced the rag joint. They do good work.
was the car running when you checked for slack? I thought mine had slack because it moved with car off. Others here enlightened me to the fact that pump pressure holds it tighter.
