Hey, looking for a bit of help. I have a 1978 that is experiencing some stall problems. The car idles fine, and runs at a steady speed really well. There is a slight hesitation (about half to a full second) when hitting the gas at low speeds. Above 35mph it seems to be fine. Then the car will stall frequently when stopped and idling or when going particularly slow (ie: turning). Clearly, becoming a bit of a problem, but I can't isolate what the problem is. I've cleaned the carb and the engine is solid, replaced a few years back with a 350 long block. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

hi alie
check your fuel filter and fuel line for kinks

There is a bit of a conflict above. Can you elaborate?
I think he is saying that it initially idles fine but after driving it dies when it slows again.
hesitation is often timing. if not that then vacuum leak? vacuum advance hooked up correctly? also, what carb are you running? floats set correctly (sometimes they stick on Holleys) so the bowls are full after accelerating?
have you sprayed some carb cleaner around the base of the carb while the engine is running to seek out a possible vacuum leak? I think I'd start there.
these are all just common things to try when dealing with tuning problems.
