hood release solution
Thought I would share a "tip" which many have probably already figured out...
I replaced the "Hood Release" handle on the 1980 this weekend. Could not figure out how to thread the stranded wire into the metal holder and up through the hood cowl?
Solution was to use heavy fishing line. When I removed the old "Hood Release" handle with the stranded wire, I then used heavy fishing line from the cowl area down through the hole. From inside the car I attached the fishing line to the end of the stranded wire on the new "Hood Release" cable. Pulled the fishing line and threaded the new stranded cable up through the cowl.
Saved me some aggravation!
