Muffler Tech.. Who's used them?
Has anyone purchased stuff from this place? Reputable.. Happy with what you got? Do they have a web site? I know 82zoom is waitting for his cat.. Just thought I'd see what others thought of their stuff..service..etc.. The guy at Muffler tech said it was an SS cat and he could put the 4 bolt connectors on for me but I wasn't really convinced he's done a lot of these.. Comments?

Koz, I just installed my test pipe from Muffler tech and the fit was fine. I have no complaints, their service was good and pipe got here quick.

the test pipe is just a peice of exhaust pipe...no restriction.......no Catalytic Convertor what-so-ever :D
Good Luck - I have the same decision coming my way...I may go with the Car Sound Cat from them just to stay air friendly :)

I too, have had a good experience with Muffler Tech. Bolted up like General Motors meant it to.
P.S. Don't forget some high temp silicone around the flanges or you will have the pleasure of doing it again!!!

Ordered Thrush Super Turbo mufflers from them about 2 years ago. $49 for the pair, couldn't beat that :smash:
They arrived about 4-5 days after ordering, and that was across the country from CA to VA. Ver pleased with my expereince.

JAF, How did you lkike the Thrush Super Turbos? How do they compare with Flowmasters for flow, performance and noise level?

I put them on my 1978SA. It has the 2-1-2 system, so that's pretty restrictive and sound-deadening. They sound pretty quiet at idle, and "tougher" at open throttle. I'm not sure how loud they would be on true duals. basically, they were a good fit muffler that was cheap, and I didn't have too much time to look around (state inspection). They still look good, no rust, and have held up fine for over 2 years.

The cat and test pipe came today. Removed org. pancake cat and started install of new. There's a small amount of difference in total length so I'll just put in a couple of gaskets. Happy with product so far.
Make sure you get all the packing peanuts out of cat before install.
