I have a 76 that came with Bubble Tail Lights, design by Bubba. They look like the bubble tail lights offered on most Corvette Parts Suppliers websites.
Assuming it is the standard aftermarket bubble tail light package, what parts do I need to put back to stock? I don't like not having backup lights.
Lenses I know. But will I also need the part the lenses attach to, or just new sockets?
I just looked under my car again. I have several cut wires dangling from the sockets, I guess they connect to the backup lights, which probably means the sockets are still originals.
Good idea about swapping. I found 4 original lenses in good shape for $80 so I am going to get them. I'll try and sell my Bubba bubble lenses. You can get a new set of bubble lenses, gaskets, etc for $80 brand new. Maybe I can get 20 bucks for my old ones.
Your bubble kit is not lenses, it's lights. You will be replacing the bubble lights with stock lights.
Most of the bubble light kits replaced the backup light socket with a crimp on pig tail and socket running from the outer light beside it. You should be able to remove the crimp on pigtail and socket.
The AIM will help; it has a diagram of where you're going.
