Default Engine ID ???

Engine block casting number...3970010 ...=350CID
Casting date I202= Sept.20,1972
EA2253 6 0 is stamped on the engine boss in front of right cylinder head. Nothing else is stamped on the boss. It's a replacement motor. Can anyone tell me what the stamping on the boss means. This is a 1972 LT-1 Vette.
Thanks;

Might be a rebuilder's stamp. Are the original broach marks still visible?

It could be a 'C' in front of it. There's something there but it's very very faint.

CExxxxxxx would make it an over the counter engine, possibly a 5/50 warranty replacemnt. Got a picture?

Engine replaced under warranty. Not original, but explains the CE stamp. It does not explain the A2253 6 0, but that might be a code used by GM to track the CE.
