Has anyone used the billet or march aluminum alternator brackets. I'm tired of fighting with power steering pump cap/dip stick and long alternator adjustment bracket. I've seen both on the internet as part of a system but have not seen them sold separate. It has shown them mounted high or in the side position, I'd like to see pictures where possible? Which bracket works best and where can i get them?
i, too, would like see the long alt. bracket replaced. have asked similar questions. Some have made their own brackets. Other than that, no real concrete answers. certainly no pics. i think the problem comes down to the vette short w/p. Good luck!!
thanks. only took about 20 hrs of work to make. oh well its a one of a kind in the world.
edit
you just got me thinking at $50 an hour shop rate i probably have one of the most expensive alternator brackets eva made. hehe. it was a fun project.
Looks really nice! Looks as though it moved alternator closer to engine, is that the case? That's what I'm looking to do. I work for a MFG and Distribution Company, will ask about having one made, can you send me measurements/dimensions?
as far as i know it is sitting in stock location. lower bracket is stock. this bracket simply replaced the piece of crap .125 thick sheet metal top bracket.
i can however check my power steering without a problem. i think a slightly shorter belt would bring it closer to the motor but am not sure what that would acomplish.

I'm looking to replace that bracket as well but also be able to check power steering easily as you mentioned. Right now it is a royal pain~
Here's my version. After seeing what other setups looked like I made this one. Drew the bracket on CAD and had a friend of mine burn it out for me. Got the strut rod and heims from a local speed shop for 25 bucks.

I love aluminum on an engine, but just out of curiosity, how much does the new bracket weigh versus the original "piece of crap"?

Lines up perfect:
That is nice!!!
The piece the strut connects to, what type of Aluminum is it? I'm sure I can get the strut and eyes here locally. Did you keep the stock lower bracket?

That pc. is made out of steel. 1/2" thick I think. I could make one out of aluminum, but I don't think it would hold up. Plus, the place my buddy works at may not stock that much aluminum. I painted that with Rustoleum, Stainless Steel color, from Home Depot. As for the lower bracket I made one to come off the headers. Similar to what noone likes because they keep coming loose or break.
I've reworked that pc. since I took this pic. But it still looks pretty much the same.
Had a hair up my butt to do something different with the Alt. Bracket. Sooo, spent a little while in my "workshop" today and came out with a newer version.
This is a Zoops bracket, which I think is a really solid mount. But even with this mount getting the power steering cap off was a royal PIA. My steering system leaked bad enough even after numerous rebuilds, I finally got tired of messing with it, and converted to manual.
