my jobber sold me a left rear brake caliper but I am really struggling to get it mounted.. it is way off center. the caliper metal is actually grinding on the rotor ( new also ). yuk...
I was looking at the parts houses and there seems to be a part number difference between the left rear and the right rear.. they seem to eyeball the same but are they? is that my problem? I already gave them the old core too. more yuk..
they gave me the correct part as it says on the receipt but perhaps was the wrong caliper boxed up and placed in the box?
the caliper is cast delco moraine 6473807. mine is a '70.
bleeder nipples are correct, pointing up in the front of the rear caliper, both inner and outer.. with bleeder 'plugs' installed at the back end of the caliper
no parking brake holes, i figured it was just a characteristic of china that the adjusting holes were not there.. i usually just adjust the parking brake out anyway to a close contact anyway and back them out a notch before putting on the rotor..
it does have the offset and the area inside for the parking brake shoes..
